The Association is a specialized scientific organization established in accordance with the Scientific Societies Law No. (55) of 1981 and its amendments, and pursuant to Ministerial Order No. (Th2/11523) dated 14/10/2025, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Association was founded to serve professionals and researchers in the field of Microbiology, contributing to the support and advancement of scientific activity in Iraq. This is achieved through promoting high-quality scientific research, organizing research seminars, scientific conferences, and specialized training courses, as well as strengthening and documenting scientific and professional relationships among specialists in this field.
The Association aspires to be an active scientific platform that brings together academics, researchers, and professionals, supports innovation, and contributes to enhancing the scientific and professional standards of microbiology in a manner that serves society and the health and research sectors in Iraq.

Mission
To develop national competencies and build a supportive research environment through continuous training, high-quality scientific publishing, and the strengthening of local and international partnerships, contributing to community service and the advancement of the scientific and healthcare sectors
OBJECTIVES
- To prepare and support scientific studies and research in the field of microbiology.
- To organize and hold scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops related to the Association’s field of specialization.
- To participate in scientific conferences and events inside and outside Iraq, and to publish a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
- To host scientists and experts of various nationalities and benefit from their expertise as lecturers in the Association’s activities, all in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- To establish scientific agreements and collaborations with corresponding Iraqi, Arab, and international institutions related to the Association’s specialization.
- To cooperate with Iraqi universities and scientific institutions to develop scientific personnel in the field of microbiology.
- To strengthen professional ties among specialists and to collect, classify, and document information related to them.
- To stay informed about the latest developments and advances in the Association’s fields of specialization.
- To encourage scientific research, joint research projects, and the exchange of research results, and to promote the integration and linkage of research topics.
